One thing in my life that I have been trying to be more positive. Being positive can be one of the hardest things to do at times. As someone in college you meet a lot of different people, college can be a scary place at times and since I have been at college I have been trying to grow my relationship with God. Which is also something that can be challenging because when at school you have so many pressures like friends, partying, and drinking. The MOST challenging thing I think is staying true to yourself and your faith and don't think I haven't drank or partied just because I want to stay true to my faith, I definitely have done those things. What I mean by staying true to your faith is when you say that you have a strong faith and that you want to lead a more faith bases life you do it. And by doing that you are staying true to the people in your life who bring out the best in you. We all have fake friends and real friends but at times we don't realize it and I learned that the hard way in high school. Don't be that person that changes as soon as you are around someone you are trying to impress or get to like you. If you have to change for them that isn't a real friendship. Don't put down your friends in front of others to boost yourself up or make yourself look better because you just showed that friend you put down that they don't need someone like you in their life. College is confusing you have so many different things happening, school work, new friends, parties, but if you can't stay true to yourself how can you stay true to God? I have always said "I love Jesus" and most of my friends at school know that I am constantly say that but I mean it I try so hard to not put my friends down or have negative thoughts about them to myself or my other friends. Do we all think negatively about someone or something? YES, because we are human and we can blame Adam and Eve for that. But if you truly want to call someone your friend you have to want the best for them and I myself take the blame for that. Proverbs 3:3-4 says " Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man." Loving others and wanting the best for them is hard, I feel like we sometimes lie to ourselves and say we are someone's friend and want the best for them but we don't take action in those thoughts. Just thinking those things does not make them real. Living a faith centered life can be tricky as well as trying to be positive most of the time but if you combine the two it can be made easier. But so can anything with the help of God. Don't change yourself for anyone but our God, in the end He is what matters. Think about your relationships and who you surround yourself with and take a look at where you are heading.
It's not hard to love each other and ourselves. Positivity and love are just two of the many keys to a faith based life, it can be so hard to be positive in certain situations but always knowing and remembering that there is an Almighty Father looking over us is just the beginning of that road. As I draw this blog to an end I hope you can grab bits and pieces of this and use it in your lives, I am always available to talk no matter who you are. Lastly, 1 Corinthians 13:13 says "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
